Case 008: A Knock At The Door

Back in 1998, the barrier between the Digital World and the real world was weakened. All throughout the city, people reported seeing all sorts of strange creatures. Of course, the chosen children knew these creatures were Digimon. But something was strange; they were see-through and colored differently. At first, they didn’t seem to interact with the world around them, but as time passed, it seems they became more and more aware. Eventually, people reported seeing an Ogremon fighting a boy and his Agumon. The Ogremon was actually causing physical damage to the buildings around it! As the fight progressed, a rift opened in the sky, slowly sucking up all transparent Digimon, the boy, and his Agumon.

This event didn’t occur in our reality. It happened to a very famous Agumon and his Partner, and I wouldn’t be surprised if you heard the story already

So, that’s obviously what’s been happening to me and the Kid recently, right? Wrong! The barrier between David’s World (Our Real World) and Grizzly’s World (Our Digital World) are perfectly fine. Even stranger still, Manga found out that these Digimon originated from the same Digital World of that famous Agumon and Human. So…..The barrier must be weak around that world, right? Wrong Again! Manga checked in on that world’s barrier, and it’s in really good shape at the moment.

David and I did figure out that the Digimon seemed to be more and more “normal” as time went on. The weaker the connection to that world was, the more distorted the Digimon appeared. That’s why at first they were all different colors, but recently started to appear in the standard color scheme. It also explains why as time went on, they seemed to become more aware of their surroundings and even had a chance to affect our world.

The worlds were clearly being connected, but the barriers were not weakening. How is that possible? Well, Manga figured it out. The barrier itself was strong, but someone, or something, was trying to break through it!

Think about putting your hand into a calm pool of water and then pulling it out. You leave ripples, but eventually the water calms and returns to normal. That’s what was happening. Somone was “knocking” on the barriers. They were trying to strong arm their way into our world. Like a burglar banging on glass to try to get into your house, but the glass doesn’t break. It rattles, makes all kinds of noise and scares everyone, but the burglar doesn’t get through.

For the past few weeks, we haven’t encountered any issues. Now that they know what to look for, Manga and the Oracles are now monitoring the barrier around that Digital World.

Where does this leave us? A big bad Digimon tried breaking in and gave up? Possibly, but unlikely. It’s more likely they realized their plan wasn’t working and they are coming up with a different one. I’m sure this isn’t the last we will hear of our little “burglar” from another world.

Okay, so, if you follow me on social media, you’re probably wondering what I meant when I posted a picture of Mangamon and said it was a hint for today’s blog. This has nothing to do with Mangamon….

No, it wasn’t click bait! I recently had a dream I Golden Arnor Digivolved! I couldn’t see my face or make out how cool I was, but I was gold and unbelievably awesome.

So, what does a dream have to do with anything? Well, long time followers remember when David first got his Digivice V. I would have dreams of these strange Digimon, and eventually, I would Digivolve into them! David thinks it was because the Digivce was ‘downloading” its data into me, and I interpreted this as dreams.

Some new big baddie comes knocking on our door, and I start dreaming about Golden Armor?! Coincidence? I think not! The two HAVE to be related!

David says I’m overreacting. He says I have always wanted a Golden Armor, and it’s not related at all. Besides, we haven’t gotten any new Digivices recently. Well, whatever kid! Mark my words! By the time this is over, I will have Golden Armor!

Either way, looks like we are taking a break from this mystery… for now….
