The other day I was opening the mail and I saw that we got a wizardmon card.
“Hey, Sara? Why did we get a Wizardmon card in the mail?” I passed her the envelope.
“oh, cool! This is the last one we needed!” Sara grabbed our card binder from the shelf .
I was confused. “What deck uses Wizardmon? ”
“I dunno. Probably a yellow deck… There. Right next to the others! Perfect!”
I looked over her shoulder. Sara had collected several pages of Wizardmon cards. As she turned the pages, I saw she also had Elecmon, Bearmon, and Hagurumon cards. Now, the Hagurumon cards work well when I’m using Machinedramon, but I had no idea why we had Elecmon or Bearmon cards.
“See, I have a section for Magna, our mentor, then a section for Rai the Bearmon and Nova the Elecmon, your sidekick from the Xros Wars era. I even got a section for the Hagurumonz. I couldn’t find any KoHagurumon cards, but Hagurumon X has them in his artwork.”
“Ummm… I know who they are. They are my partners from other universes, after all. But what deck do they work in? ” I asked.
“Okay, About that… ” Sara closed the binder. ” I decided I have had enough of fighting. I did plenty of that back home. Now I learn about all the different Digimon Worlds out there. So…. I decided to retire my deck. Instead, I’m just going to collect cards that are important to You, David, Dan, and me. “
“You’re just going to collect? What’s the point of collecting if you don’t battle? “
“To look at them? Listen, I know you prefer playing, but Dan really likes to just look at the art. And David likes to do both. But don’t worry. I know you don’t like the idea of David collecting cards, because in the past he overspent. You have been using the strategy of “just collecting cards related to a deck’ as a means to keep the spending in check, but I think David can also collect important cards, like ones based on our friends. You can be in charge of helping him with his decks, and I’ll be in charge of helping him with the collection. ” Sara smiled in a way that let me know she has already had this all planned out with David.
I looked into the living room. David was curled up with Dan watching a documentary on Taichi Kamiya and his team. Sara got the cards back down and started organizing her new collection pages. Is this my life now?
I guess it could be worse.
